Really short and quick question for the board, is it terribly damaging in any way to a high school runner to train for ultras? The young man who wants to start that is 17, has already run across the state, and can do 15-20 miles like it's easy so it seems plausible for him. I think what the kid said he wanted to do was rest Sunday, 2.5 hours every day of the week right after school(Mon-Fri), and a few 200 meter repeats on Saturday mornings with a 30 miler on Saturday evenings with mileage added as time progresses. All miles would be on trails.
