Iona was 8th overall. Their fifth scored 136, running 31:46.
Last year Sheridan came in 12th overall (scored 10) and ran 29:47.
With him on the team Iona almost certainly hits the podium and very likely comes in second.
Which begs the question...where is Ryan Sheridan?
What if Ryan Sheridan had run for Iona?

f*** that, if Ramsay had finished in the top 10 St. Lawrence could've f***ing won it
oh, wait... -
what if Mcneill ran normal and Jordan Chipangama and Ben Ashkettle ran for NAU?? could they have beaten OSU??
-
No, they couldn't have.
Iona, however, could have easily got second with Sheridan. -
Iona, however, could have easily got second with A HEALTHY Sheridan. He was sick or injured and was not training for all of October.
You could play that game with pretty much every team today, for example the FSU men had a great 2nd place showing without Matt Leeder who was 50th last year. What if he had finished? -
The difference here is that only Iona had their star runner quit the team midseason after a sex scandal involving his two Rhode Island born teammates.
Iona should have taken home some hardware. -
The reason why Sheridan didn't race for Iona this season had NOTHING to do with him being injured. He quit the team for a certain reason.
-
Well, if you two are gonna call a guy out, you at least gotta give SOME kind of details and EVIDENCE.
-
a "certain" reason was him being sick. anything else is just rumor mongering. classic letsrun. the guys at iona ran great today (another top 10 finish isn't too shabby), sheridan obviously has personal issues to attend to, leave it at that.

I just noticed that Iona's entire top 5 at nationals was foreign.

DEY TOOK UR JOBS!!!!

Even if Krause does not get injured in the last half mile, going from 10 points to 105 (for what would have been number 6). That takes 95 points from their total and adds a few to everybody else's. -
if you look at iona's roster next semester, sheridan won't be the only person missing because of the new coaching staff.

Why not?? Mcneill should have taken 1st in the team scoring with Chipangama being around 3rd or 4th. They could have had 2 in front of OSU's 1 and 4 in front of OSU's 3. A healthy ashkettle could have finished in the 30's i would think. -
HE HAS A MANGINA!!!!

From what I've heard the other kids leaving have been kicked off for disciplinary misconduct. They aren't quitting because of the new coaches they were kicked off because they f^$ked up. Anyone posting differently is probably one of those kids. -

Actually the majority of the Iona team hates ricardo so yeah part of the reason could be because of the coaching staff. -
Sheridan quit because he had a stomach problem and when he found out he couldn't run at 100% and saw how well Korir was running he quit because he couldn't be the star of the team. Very selfish individual. I was at an Iona party earlier this year and the guys were talking about how when Korir was running poorly, the coaches were forcing him to move out of his house because they wanted the two UK boys to live together. If you are American and not on the top 7 the coaches don't even acknowledge you or give you any gear.
-
Iona would have done better with Sheridan
We don’t know why Sheridan didn’t run yesterday let alone why he quit the team.
We won’t know until he (Sheridan) tells his side of the story
End of Story and end of thread. Hope to see Sheridan during track -

Very few of you on here have any idea about the truth, there was nothing this going on. As another runner in his conference/region who knows people on my team that are good friends with him and other runners at Iona, it came down to disagreements and general turmoil between coach/athlete relationship which is not all that suprising because many of these runners were recruited under Mick Byrne (the American ones at least)...Byrne recruited alot of foreigners but also kept the USA in his mind...now you see almost none of that on the team and the relationships between him and his athletes is obviously not what it once was when they finished 2nd back to back years a few years ago.
