The NAIA championship course in Vancouver is so bad! I wouldn't mind it as much if it wasn't hosting the national meet but it is hosting the national meet! I know NAIA isn't the best but I mean has anyone seen it? It's terrible. It weaves around and it always rains in Portland in November so you would think they would try to make less turns. There are so many pointless turns that you can tell were made just to lengthen the course because it loops around a tiny park 4 times!

I hope YOU aren't running NAIA nationals, because you are defeated already. Coaches, other than your coach, will be telling their teams "Remember guys, it's the same for everybody"....which it is.
A few years ago NCAA Div. III was in an absolute quagmire, somewhere in southern Ohio. Anyone on here remember that?
i ran it last year. i remember being excited because i made nationals and the whole trip was fun. we visited the nike headquarters and went up to eugene for a day. but the course and the race itself was awful. how they think that they can pack 300+ runners on that muddy awful course is beyond me. enjoy the trip and the experience but hope that you have another shot at running nationals when its at a better place.
one other thing that i forgot to add. you better be good at fartlek type workouts. one thing i noticed is that for the first loop and a half or so its almost stop and go each time you get to a turn. so if you dont go out at 4:30 or whatever it is with the leaders be prepared to get backed up with giant crowds and mess.
