Unbelievable that the NFHS is now disqualifying athletes based on the color of the stitching on uniforms. They are control-freaks on steroids.

Help me, because I don't really understand this: what is the point of these uniform rules?
From an official's standpoint, I don't see why they would care at all. I guess I understand it a bit for relays in track, where when a kid is coming in for a hand-off, the officials need to see which team is where.
In XC, it is nice if the runners can easily distinguish who is on what team. There shouldn't be any blatant attempts to confuse people, but these infractions are really minor.
In reality, a lot of uniforms look the same and unless a team has a really distinctive uniform, it is hard to know what team is around you.
Sorry to ramble, but seriously, what is the purpose behind these rules?
Happened a year or two ago. Hereford high (yes the famous md xc course) won both boys and girls state team titles this fall.
The uniform rules are ludicrous when it comes to stitching and logos. Stitching has to be the same color as shorts/top and there can only be one logo. Dumb dumb dumb
And you wonder why this is a second rate sport...
My innercity HS team was so poor our 4x880 team had 3 pair of spikes the first guy took his off and the anchor put them on. Deciding who ran what leg was based on shoe size not timetrials! We had about 8 singlets with the school name, the skinnyassed 2 miler would get a shotputter size shirt to wear more often than not! We ran in common blue gym shorts and the singlet color was not the same shade of blue.
Non-congruent sub-uniform stitching infractions FIE!!
Irving S. Black of CT and company
The positive of this story is that those kids came back this year and won the MD state xc title.
Don't blame the official for following the rules. If the rules are bad, get them changed thru your governing body.
How would you like an official who enforced only the rules he thought were good??? That would be fun, would'nt it?
Yes, I would like anyone who enforced any type of rule (officials, policemen, judges, ect.) to not enforce idiotic rules to the letter of the law. Would you like it if through some loophole of the law (or just a bad law) I was allowed to murder or rape you, and you had no right to legally defend yourself until the law was fixed? (Slavery) Maybe you would prefer it if you couldn't go out in public without being both entirely covered and with a relative male escort. (And if you didn't, and someone raped you, you would be the one executed by the state) (Sharia Law)
I hate stupidity, and that sentiment is nothing short of it. Please tell me you don't vote.
They would get less for doping!
