Virginia 65
North Carolina 100
Duke 122
NC State 153
Men's results anyone?
These "live" results suck!

Wow, the UNC Men did not have a good day......and UVA's men should be much better than what they finished. They went 5 and 7 and have a veteran team. Looks like Vig and Watson were able to figure it out on the women's side this year. UVA probably will make NCAA's on the men's side but they should be a lot better.
Watson probably needs to evaluate how he's training his men's team. Stuff happens but he had two guys coming back that finished in the top 21 last year and this year they were 37th (Evan W.) and DNF(Adam C.). Flotrack named his freshmen class Number 1 in the country but he probably only had 3 of those guys that you would have guessed could contribute at a 10k level coming out of high school (Huryz, Magnuson, and Abushuck)...I know Watson will get hammered by a lot of people but looking at his team on paper coming into this year they were probably an outside shot to make NCAA's. He probably could have used some of the veterans that were on the team last year but quit/got kicked off. I like his passion but he needs to reevaluate the season long training plan.
It is warm, dry, and dusty. Teams who went out conservatively ran best. Wm men and duke men, ESP. Looked like duke women crashed hard. They were killing everyone at 2m.
I guess W&M doesn't miss Gibby after all. Different coach, same result. Roll Tribe.
Those were all Gibby's guys out there, though. It will be interesting to see how well Walsh can recruit. I'm sure he's a fine coach, but he walked into a good situation.

It's not like Gibby was bringing in loads of sub-9 HSers though. Excellent job done by Coach Walsh in what appears to be a very comfortable win for the Tribe. This guy really knows his stuff!
Shut up! You're really ignorant!!!!

It is true...same result as last year. Not sure how that is ignorant, when it is just stating the facts. Ultimately, its up to the kids to get it done, and they did under both coaches.bruinboy wrote:

why? they finished 6th, eku and richmond deserve to go more than uva does. Thats about where they should finish too, if anything they had a really good day.

My gut tells me that with their Paul Short win, that UVA will get in and push the other teams ahead of them into NCAA's.

Really ignorant? How so my sensitive little fella? Just stating the facts that are obvious to all. And yes, these guys were recruited by Gibby, but Walsh got them prepared to dominate a tough region this year. Congrats also to Norm--I thought that Duke would be fading fast.

They can't push that many teams in.
NC State, Richmond, UVA, and Liberty all had two in before WM or Duke had scored their first runner, more proof that it is the 4th and 5th runners that make a team in XC.
No doubt Watson has a young team, but who quit the team or got kicked off that would have made any difference? This comment is nonsense. The freshman were better than any of the guys on the team last year, other than Adam Cunningham and Evan. People graduated, obviously, but no one was cut or left that would have made an impact on this team.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
