Yep, with Meb, Dan and Alan moving to the marathon, he just has to hang with Abdi.
Hooahh!!!

Hooahh!!!
Alan hasn't made the "move" to the marathon a permanent one, yet. You're also forgetting Torres, Ritz, etc.
You're so high.
Meb, Alan, Brad Hauser, Abdi, Clint Wells will not seek
a spot on the 2004 Olympic Marathon team. The above guys
are all sub 28 minute 10k and they will all drop their
pr's significantly before the 2004 Olympics. Factor in that David Kimani may have US citizenship by then and
Jorge and Dan will be shooting for a 10k spot its going to
be a difficult event to place top 3. Kirkpatrick will need to improve greatly to make the Olympic team on the track!
Meb and Alan will still do the 10,000m in the games. I say top 3 at the trials are still the 3 who did it in 2000. Kirkpatrick needs to get the 27:49 or 13:21.5 before such predictions are real. Torres and Ritz are in the 1320s now and realize that the 5k is the easiest event at this point with no standards achieved. Do you undertand that Ryan won the 10k on a November Day and is usually not healthy in June!! Has he ever been to Nationals and place??? This is another instance all together. Are we forgetting Rogers and Goucher who are don't really stinnk either. Get a clue. I am glad to see Ryan and his brother pumping himself up on this website. Maybe he should be consistent, no one is fogetting providence or lackluster at Falmouth. Consistency makes the Olympic Team not random fast times on good weather days.
Slaughter Yourself
Of course fast times are what make the Oly team, esp if there's no 10k prelim. Ex - Nick Rogers is pretty inconsistent.
Maybe it's premature to say that he will make the Games, but the shape he's in now is indicative of low 28, and sub 13:40, and he'll run faster than that. Ritz and Jorge haven't run 1 track 10k, or sub 13:21, so I guess we should tell them to shut up if they ever think about making the Olympic Team, too?
So what if he said he'd beat Dan Browne at Providence. A lot of guys ran bad there. There's nothing wrong with having ambitions. It's not like he called him a loser. Some idiots go around talking shit about people, and then say they're just telling the truth, speaking their mindlessness- that's pathetic. Ryan is not one of them.
