hola! sorry this is so long . . . i sometimes have stomach issues and was wondering if any of you ever experience similar problems. here are the details:
my first bout of what i call running-montazumas-revenge happened after a 30k (my first). i had minor diareah and kind of bad cramps.
the next bout that i remember came after a 20+ miler where i picked up the last 4-5 miles. i had really bad cramping, couldn't eat for about 4-5 hours and was on the toilet all afternoon.
i had this a few more times, tought i finally had it under control by eating a clif bar before any long run over 18 miles (i thought the distance was the problem). then i got it again after a 10 mile tempo run. finally, i had it worse than ever after a 10k track workout (the 10k of pain! in-n-out 800's -- loads of fun). i got so sick after i ate my dinner! couldn't run for 2 days after. now i get a little concerned any time i'm doing speed workouts.
does anyone out there experience this? what have you done to control it? thanks in advance for any info/help. -- kk
