Honestly, I have been wondering about that as well. Without Chipangama and Ashkettle, they don't have a chance in hell to compete for the national title. They will get a top 10 at best.
With Chipangama and Ashkettle, they have a very legit chance to challenge Stanford, Ok St, and Oregon. So where are they? I don't know. They haven't been seen the entire season and by now it's kinda late so if they haven't debut then my guess is they won't run this season. That's really too bad because with a complete team NAU has a chance to do something special. I don't know what's going on with those guys. Injured? not at NAU anymore? anybody with information?
NAU is doing the same thing on the womens side. They have not raced their top 3 runners and as a result their team is pathetic. They've won conference for 4 years in a row and this year they'll get their arses handed to them with the team they've been racing. Honestly NAU race your full team, this incomplete crap is getting old and it doesn't make sense.

I am curious to note NAU's team break every race. they seem to only run 2 of there top 5 each time. correct me if im wrong but they have
Jordan chip - 5th at ncaa's xc
David Mcniel - 2xncaa 5k champ (28:03/13:25)
Diego estrada - (13:47frosh / 28:40)
Ahmed Osman - 9th 10k 09' (28:52/ 13:58)
Ben Ashkettle - (13:55 / 28:52)
6-10? seems to be these other guys all running consistantly 24:20-24:40's solid.
we have now seen Dave, Diego, and Ahmed. So is Jordan and Ben injured or redshirting? are they racing soon? It will play a big role in there outcome at the national level. I dont think we have ever seen all 5 of these guys fresh on the starting line. This is the inly team that can challenge stanford in my eyes! Goodluck!
Found some more interesting tid bits to use as comparing teams.
Last year at prenats Ben ashkettle placed 16th(24:10) while Jordan chipangama placed 3rd (23:47).
Then 2 years ago in 2008 Ben ashkettle place 11th in (23:51)

Given what happened last year, it isn't the end of the discussion. They obviously look really good, but several of the main contenders (like OKST) weren't there.
