He wasn't in the UK prior to 2008 I would say. PO10 is a British website, and this guy is a Kiwi.

Looked like a violation of the no-outside-assistance rule, which is a rule, not a guideline.
Too late to protest.

no it ain't money's for all canada running series is held for months while drug tests are done and athletes are cleared to receive money and during this time protests can be made by athletes about other athletes, the 9th place runner all the way through to 3rd have a good chance of picking up an extra 2-3 thousand dollars as outside aide IS NOT ALLOWED IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, but i would not be surprised if this gets swept under the carpet by the stwm organizers!!
I would be embarassed if I tried to get 2nd place disqualified. I know it's a rule, but come on, she got 2nd place and the other girl got 3rd.
A rule is a rule, eh? So it's all right to break a rule if someone picks your pocket? It's all right to break a rule if someone hits your car? Both of these are violations of rules. Ms. 2nd Place received aid outside of the aid zone and she got an advantage over all of the other runners who played by the rules and took aid in the aid zones, which tend to be really congested. She broke a rule--she should be DQ.

However, all the other girls got illegal pacing.
All the women were paced.
Do you wish all the women to be disqualified?
I was at the STWM pre-race techinical meeting and the two elite athlete coordinators specifically said that athletes could not receive assistance such as being handed drinks by coaches, pacers etc. as this would constitue a rule violation and they would thus be disqualified. They very clearly said athletes could only pick up their drinks themselves. Both the athlete and coach in the video were present at the meeting.
This is getting out of hand. It was one drink. Fine give a punishment to the coach, but don't take away the hard work of the athlete over something so minor. If she purposefully pushed another athlete over I could see it. But over this, I think not.
If they had an illegal pacer they should be but I don't think you understand this rule.
According to the the rules (aid only allowed at aid stations), would it have been okay for her coach to hand her something if it was at an aid station?
