I go by miles. I don't try and race my runs though. I go alomst completely off of feel.
Time, I've gotten used to it. I've gotten older so I've accepted it and have started running routes that aren't measured.
It's a bit of a safety valve after a work day. I used to dread running some days, now I don't anymore, so it has helped to that extent.
Both. I measure the distance and time how long it takes. I enjoy my runs immensely!

Time, then later measure it online. I find myself pushing too hard sometimes when I know the distance ahead of time.

distance but never time them... works the same as time with no ditance, either way you have no clue how fast ur going
Well, once you've run enough mileage then you can estimate how fast you are going.
Distance, with my Garmin. I keep it on a screen set up with just distance, and don't look at my pace until after the run.
i "log" my training based on mileage, but often than mileage is an estimation based on the amount of minutes i run and the pace i think i was going at.
the flaw in this is i get paranoid...I always convince myself i am running very slow and end up tacking on extra minutes constantly...i like to know the course much better, it gives me peace of mind
I measure my runs by how many squirrels my dog chases. Went for a four squirreler today.
I agree with "fghrunner" - logging distance based perceived pace for the time spent running. Also, I will go on a run in which I know the distance but not bring a watch. This allows me to run based on how I feel.
Only during my workouts am I concerned with 'distance over time.'
You do not measure anything by mileage you buffoon, mileage is just the unit you are measuring. You measure with some type of instrument such as a GPS. You also don't measure 'by' time, you measure 'the' time spent running.

I measure my runs by BADGER MILES. The only real way to measure a run.
I personally go by time, i beleive that no matter how far you run as long as you get in a solid time. If you run an hour a day i think that would be solid regardless how far you run, when building a base fitness (summer trainin) running for a certain amount of time is how i would run. 8 miles in an hour.. or 9 miles in an hour.. or faster ;) as long as i get that hour in

I believe the correct term is "intellectually disabled" these days.
OP - for most of my runs, I'll round up/down the time I was out. Generally, I have an idea what the distance was. I only care about time for distance during a workout.
