I should qualify this. My average mileage through the season was like this. However, I had a higher mileage base (70-80), stuck around 70 for part of the season, got injured, missed a few weeks, got back to around 70, and ran my PR. Soooo average is maybe a bit deceiving. Additionally, I did daily pool workouts, while injured and uninjured.

The latter was when I was 38 in the middle of marathon training.

Should have run in high school. Was a band kid instead. At least I played the drums.

A possible flaw in what you are doing: Although I said 85/week for the 6 month period, it was 90+ Jan-March, and tapered to less than 70 by the end of track season. The type of workouts changed significantly.
