Has there ever been a marathon run with every single mile under 5?
Of all the thousands of marathons run under 2:11:05 (exactly 5 min. pace), someone must have done this.

I don't have the stats, but I think it's a safe assumption that Khannouchi's 2 sub-2:06's would qualify, as well as DaCosta's 2:06:05, Tergat's and Gebresallasie's runs in London this year...probably even Densimo's 2:06:50 back in '88(?). In other words, I'm sure it's done on a regular basis now that sub-2:10's have become commonplace.
In the record race in London Khannouchi and co. ran their slowest mile slower than Radcliffe ran her fastest. About 5:07 I think. Possibly on one of the fast courses with no real reason for pace variation it has been done in a generally slower race. Rotterdam or Lake Biwa maybe???
Wow, I would have thought it would be automatic in a race with an average pace of about 4:48. Any idea what KK's splits were in any of his Chicago runs?
I think that was Geb's slowest mile, I'll watch the video again but I'm positive they did not dip below 4:57 through 23. Khannouchi and Tergat nailed sub-5 the whole way. Khannouchi never dipped below 5 in Chicago 99 either.
