Ran 10 miles today for a sunday run, and felt good so I went out fast (5:45 pace). I held that for 4 miles easily, but then it started pouring rain. By the time I was at 5 miles, I was drenched and feeling a bit heavy. I held pace until 6 miles, but then started slowing down. I ended up finishing the run in 58:58.
When I got home I weighed myself in wet clothes vs dry clothes and determined that I weighed 5lbs more when wet.
How much faster could I have gone had it not rained?
I was rather excited about this workout considering my 10 mile pr was 59:20, and that was in a race with good weather several years ago. just looking for (friendly) estimates. Thanks.
