I can recall ripping off the "14flat" 5k off the bike...haha, or 4.xxKm or whatever.the simon lessing time trial referenced above was a week prior to '97 worlds in perth, simon ran around 29:15 on the track, and then Macca went 29:10 just to one up him. Macca won worlds that year IIRC.the gold standard for coming off the bike is under a min. the realistic human limit is 45sec, but thats ONLY if the bike was easy-sleazy. 60-90sec is typical, which is why when you see these 30flat times, they're unbelievable for a reason. Shoemaker can run but he can't run 30flat. 30:xx sure, but not 30 flat, sorry. Whitfield, gomez, brownlee, don....those guys can all run 30flat but not every weekend, so when you see 29:xx, obviously quite short.dude-
