Ok, I'm no elite are anything (please dont laugh :-) ), but I do a bit of running for fun. For a long time I used to think I was more suited to distance running but the last couple of weeks I have been doing some experimentation over shorter distances on the track and now am not so sure. So this is where I need your help. What events am I best suited for. I am 25 years old. Here are my PB's:
100M - 13secs (low 13's, off no training)
200M - 30secs (low 30's, end of a long session, maybe 1-1.5 secs faster if fresh. No training)
400M - 66secs (low 66's, off no training)
800M - 2:42 (In road running shoes off no training, I think 2:35 with spikes perhaps. I'll try some day with spikes)
1500M - 5:16 (back when I was 17/18 with a few weeks training)
Mile - 5:56 (With spikes and a garmin, off no training)
5k (Road) - 21:02 (WITH Training)
10k (Road) - 45:02 (WITH Training)
Half Marathon - 1:49:06 (WITH Training, about 70 miles in total)
Marathon - 4:07:35 (WITH Training, about 350 Miles in total)
Long Jump - I jumped about 4.65-4.70m the other day off no training or any technical coaching.
So am I wasting my time with distance events? All advice appreciated.
Thanks
