Huge PR for Bailey, running sub-10.
Huge PR for Bailey, running sub-10.
Two PRs today for him
Anyone who believes this is delusional; previous SB was 10.09A with 1.6m/s. This is a Fasuba-like one-off and we'll never witness this guy running this kind time ever again. Mark my words, something is fishy there.
And of course you are the all knowing all seeing fastest man in the world. Give the guy credit where credit is due. So does this mean that the world record 800m does not count??? Are you kidding me??
Sets record for former Club NW athletes lol

His previous best was a 10.09 into a -1.6, and that was just a week ago.
10.09 into a -1.6 probably converts to around 9.95 with a +1.9 wind
Everyone here thinks they are some kind of expert on places they have never been or people they have never met. What a freaking joke.

I think it's more along the lines of 9.90 or 9.91 based off the conversions i've seen.
No, it's worth ~10.00
Bailey won't be under 9.94 again. Mark this post.

Um, completely wrong. Under the conditions stated by the other poster, you're not even close. Granted it's not an actual science, the accepted (as much as they can be) conversions put it at about exactly what i stated.
It was a 1.6 tailwind ánd at altitude...so...convert that. We're talking about 10.2x something, and that's nowhere near 9.88...
I'll eat crow if he repeats with another sub 10...

That's kind of an ignorant statement....there's a good chance he will do sub 10 again if he has a favorable wind. The fact that a 9.88 with a 1.6 tailwind at altitude (which is no where near a 10.2 like you suggest) is converted to something slower with no wind, does not prevent wind from happening AGAIN. the wind conversion is around .8ish for a 1.6, and the altitude is NOT more than .24.
Why so much hate and doubt on Bailey?
In last 10 days he went 20.10 in Zurich after leading for first 110 meters or so. Then went 10.13 into a -1.5 in Slovakia where he easily beat Michael Frater of Jamaica and Mike Rogers. Run with the wind thats 9.94. Then he runs 9.95 and 9.88. Anyone who has actually been watching the kid would know he was leading at NY adidas race through 70 meters of a race won in 9.89 (slightly windy) before he cramped up. Then he went 20.17 out of lane 2 at Pre which is stunning for a guy who is 6'5"
I looked back and he ran the 10.09 vs Charundy Martina to open the season but look at the video and he starts to overstride at about 60 meters when he had a clear meter lead on Martina who went on to run 10.03. He ran best lead off leg at Penn Relays in what certainly not where he is his strongest. Then he beat Keston Bledman by .15 in the Penn 100 hour later on a slow track into a big headwind again. Bledman ran 10.01 at adidas.
Bailey ran 10.23 into a -2.3 wind in Gateshead which is 9.96 when turned around and then lost twice to Nesta Carter in Italy on ridiculously bad tracks by .02 both times.
He had several other solid 200 meter efforts and if you examine his technique from Rieti to looking back earlier in the year you see a big improvement in start mechanics, drive phase and maintaining top speed form. He certainly has much more improving to do and I look for this guy to go big next year.
I would take any bet on here from anyone that this guy is rarely going to run over 10 seconds in the future. Before people start talking out of thier ass they need to look at the facts and the video. They don't lie.
You might well be eating crow. Take another look at the results of that race...it was a -1.6 (HEADWIND), not a tailwind. He is an outstanding talent, who hasn't been running for more than a few years. Mark my word, he will be running lots of sub 10's in the next few years.
The Best athlete in the state of Oregon, that Dan Steele never coached!
marked!

Wow. Bailey ran 9.88 twice this year and 9.93 twice.
I wonder how Kabayo's crow tasted.
yeah, kabayo got his a$$ destroyed. Might want to reevaluate your whole thought process, dick.
