Manzano 3:32.37!!! 2nd place beating some big names.

4 Americans in one year at 3:32 or better and without Webb even.

Manzano is 3rd in the Diamond Ranking.

I have to admit I am one of those that called Leo inconsistent. I am eating crow right now.

Great job Leo! Fantastic season.

One thing I am surprised at: Kiprop is 5 years younger than Leo. Wow. I thought Leo was young and he is, but comparatively, that is incredible.

I don't know why you need to take that back. Leo has been inconsistent. He's had a great 2010 but that doesn't mean he has not had a few goose eggs. When is the last time you saw Kiprop run a 4:00 mile in a race? Never.

Leo has had at least 3 last place (or close to it races) in the last 2 years. Asthma may be a factor but it doesn't change the facts.

You can be inconsistent and still have a fabulous year like Leo has.

He's "inconsistent" early in the season when he's training hard. As far as I can see, no American runner times a peak better than he does.

I was only sort of joking. First Manzano knocks him off the top mile list, now soon after he knocks him off the 1500m list.

More scary than the time was that if you watched the race- he was closing like a fireball - by far the fastest over the final 150m.

20-30 more meters and he woulda had the Olympic champ...oh well, a learning experience for sure.

And what was with the pacers going 54,58,58? A 2:51 split isn't gonna give the times these athletes are capable of...particularly with the first 400 that fast.

This 3:32.37 for Manzano is comparable to Joe Falcon's 3:49.31 in terms of conversion of times. Now if Manzano can stay healthy, perhaps we'll see what Falcon could have done if he'd stay healthy. I am not sure if Manzano has the endurance potential that Falcon demonstrated, but he sure has shown the middle distance tools...
