Would there be some benefits in dropping a little weight?

are you still growing or are you an adult?
Leo Manzano is 5'5 and 125. He is a decent runner.
5'8 or 5'9 at 125 pounds would indicate an elite distance runner body type. But not everyone can be that skinny and still be talented, so I wouldn't worry about it. Just eat healthy, train hard, and you'll be good.
how about 5'4" and 115?

agreed. You don't need to lose weight anymore.you're rail thin already.
Other than eating right and running a lot, which you should be doing anyway, how do you plan to drop a little weight?
How about 5'8", 145 pounds and a 6,5" dick?
Depends on the build. I am thick boned and could never healthfully get below 160 at 6'3". Then, there is Paul Tergat who stayed at 6'0" 130 pounds for years. Go more by bone structure than height. Mesomorph, endomorph and ectomorph are some good terms (from bodybuilding/exercise phys) that loosely apply to trying to identify what your build is. Viren or Tergat would be a classic ectomorph. Pre or McMullen would be a mesomorph. And, there are really no such thing as an elite endomorph runner; these are your throwers, baseball players, etc.
Peter Snell was 5'10", 176 lbs.
What about 5'5, 175 lbs?
you could probably afford to put on a few inches
what are your thoughts? wrote:

stop worrying about your weight and just train
you will be just fine as long as you are under 160 pounds
My dick weighs 125 pounds!
Kenenisa Bekele is 5'5 125. Clearly if you want to be a successful you need to drop some height. Now, your feet are rather important, but fortunately for you these days, back-alley neurosurgery is cheaper than ever. After the operation, wear attractive hats to cover up any exposed tissue under the skull, and you'll be on your way to a PR.
male or female??
More important than weight is % body fat. 3% is essential for good health, many elites are down to that level. Inexpensive bath room scales are available and are very near the gold standard DEXA in terms of accuracy.
you dont need to worry about your weight until you are world class (as long as you're within 25ish pounds of an equally-tall elite runner).
Work on your training. Thats what is holding you back.
I would question how many elites are actually down around 3%. At 3 percent you start seeing ridiculous muscle striations like competitive bodybuilders have, which I don't see with most runners. Maybe some East African runners.
Example of super-low body fat:
