Today I was running on the local track and for a bit of a laugh I decided to have a go at the Long Jump. I jumped 4.30m, but I've pretty much never done a long jump in my life really and have never trained for it or anything. So I was wondering how far would I realistically be able to jump with proper technical coaching in a club, and with specific training? Am interested to know how far I could possibly go without having any sort of natural talent for it as it is absolutely great fun. Much more enjoyable that huffing and puffing through a road race.
Background Info: I'm 25, around 5 Foot 9, about 9.5 stone in weight. My natural speed over 100m is a bit less than 13 seconds (again have never trained for that or anything). I did a 400m today in 67 seconds if that is any sort of useful guidline, which it probably isnt.
Thanks
P.S. Please can there be none of the usual condescending comments you always get off the usual egotistical twats along the lines of "you are shit" or "that is a shit jump" etc etc. I know I am not good and I dont care, I just do athletics for a bit of fun as I dont have a natural talent, so anybody who makes remarks like that is nothing but a bitter loser who is jealous they cant make it to the very top of the sport so feels they need to put down somebody less talented than them. Just have to clear that up as you always get these muppets leaving comments like that.
Anyway, to sum up, what is my realistic potential at Long Jump?
