two years ago i ran a 28:20 8k, last year after an incredibly frustrating season i peaked with a 29:40 8k. so i took the initiative this summer and ran about 500 miles, which is about 100-150 more than i've run in summers past, and am bent on breaking 28min during my last season. whats keeping me wary is that i ran a 17:50 5k and a 29:10 5mile the summer before my 28min season, and have only ran a 18:08 5k and a 37:05 10k this summer (though the 10k was at the end of a tri). based on my mileage increase and dedication, i feel like i should smash my old pr, but i havent been feeling the speed i think ill need. is a 27:00 8k a very realistic goal?
