They never said yards, only meters. Two possibilities: it was 60y, in which case 6.08 is #5 all-time (for 55m, which is about 2-3 inches different). Or if it was 60m, then 6.08 was hand-timed and one if the best ever. In any case, it was fast.

Couldn't have been 60m. I hand-timed it over and over and kept getting times that should convert right back to an FAT time between 6.04-6.14 (and since he ran 6.08...)
You also have to take into account that he pulled up a little bit at the end and probably wasn't going flat out. His actual time should convert to about a 6.56 60m, which is still about 10.15 speed on average, maybe 10.10 for someone with his closing speed.
Gay has gone 6.36 before for a 60m (first 60 of his 100 in Berlin). Bolt went 6.31 in that run.
