I think every Men's record is in play, Komen's 3000m is great, but at this point, the 5k looks just as good, when is the last time someone ran with in 10 seconds of the 5k WR? The 3k is definitely stronger but if someone gets into the sort of shape where they can make a run at the 5k I think they can make a run at the 3k too.
1500m/mile are great, but a great 1500m runner can get so many shots at it, I think it is just waiting for the next huge talent.
800m is going to go down before any of those events, too many people are too close.
10k I thought would have been broken by now, I thought Bekele had a 26:0x in him, but it doesn't look that way. If somebody gets themselves into 12:40 flat shape this is going down.
Marathon/HM are going down soon, those events are just exploding.
If Usain Bolt doesn't break the 100/200 records again I don't think they will be broken for at least the rest of my life. He is too other worldly
110HH is going down.
400IH will take a special athlete, I could see that one hanging around for another decade or two.
400m I want to say will get broken, but 43.18 is just sooooo fast. The US is really the only country putting out people who can challenge it.
I'd say the 100, 200, once Bolt is done with them, will be around the longest for the men.
I legitimately believe that of the current Women's running WRs, more will still be on the books when I die than will come off of them. All the Middle Distance records, the 100, the 200, the marathon, out of this world.
