Not yet.
Trying to make some calls to people there but weather is so bad in England can't seem to get through to the States
Dominic
TB, any idea of the top few individuals results, can't find info anywhere. EMU must be devastated with Boaz winning would have won quite easily
typical. CMU has to cheat to win. disgusting....
huronman, what is disgusting is your post! CMU had to cheat to win? How was this done? Did they pay the course official to direct Boaz in the wrong direction? Did they bribe Boaz to run the wrong direction? Please let us know as you must have some insight on this.
Fact is EMU and CMU are both damn good teams and EMU couldn't overcome such a blunder. I think you should be worried about getting Boaz running in the right direction rather than making such a ignorant post.
I doubt that was a huron fan. My bet is someone was trying to instigate. If it was, I hope he shuts up. That was so ignorant. Congrats to Fuller and the CMU runners, enjoy it and hopefully both teams will represent the MAC well at districts and at nationals. Hopefully with Eastern winning the best of 3 series of course!
How did CMU cheet, EMU's kenyan is to stupid to know where to go (geograph major). the only cheet is EMU getting a kenyan to run for them. this just prooves that without their forigners they're not that good.
Amen to that.
I'm sure that I can speak for all EMU alum in saying that I congratulate CMU, they cannot control the course or the marshalling of that course all they can do is run hard and let what happens happens.
It will be interesting to see what has happened, I would not be suprised if the marshall got confused and sent Boaz of on another long lap due to being so far in front he got confused. That has happened to me a couple of times in the past. If I remember correctly the Miami is a 5k and then a 3K lap. He could have been sent wrong on the split for the 3K turn.
Shame it spoils a great race. But if what we have heard is correct Boaz must be in fantastic shape to be that far in front with the eventual winner running 23.50, look out Districts and NCAA's

Before calling someone "stupid" you should take a look at your post. Dumbass.
Congrats to Central
Boaz was EMU's sixth man with about 1K to go and made up a HUGE deficit to finish as EMU's 5th man. I would love to know what his last 800m/1k was. CMU wins by 1. EMU's 4th was one spot behind CMU's 4th as was Boaz only one spot from CMU's 5th. Easily could of been a big different story.
Boaz was EXTREMELY upset. "I'm not worried about me. Nov. 17th will be my day. I'm upset for the team." quoth the Boaz.
Man, Gavin sounds like a ... well, you know. Did Gavin have a real chance to redirect him, at any point, given the sight lines and distance between them?
SI: You were obviously delusional since there was a marshall right there yelling for Boaz to go the other way. The meet program says - runners will go behind the Art Museum again and turn RIGHT, going up the hill. Boaz turned left. the folks at Miami said that no one has ever turned the wrong way at that spot before - EVER.
don't blame the home meet management.
I'm not delusional. Read my post again. I am passing on the story of a witness. His story starts here:
Eastern Michigan loses by one point. Posted 11-2-2002 22:05
I have no idea whether it is accurate. Furthermore, I agree with you. This is Boaz's fault no matter what the meet management did or didn't do. Please read things a little more carefully before you start calling people "delusional".
Will be intersting to see. But i would bet there was not a marshall RIGHT there to tell him to go one way and he just went to other. More likely he went wrong and then the marshall's realised and then tried to call him back.
But at a championship this should not be allowed to happen at a turn it should either be sectioned off or marshall there to stand and not let him go wrong at the start.
He will have looked at the course but it is easy to go wrong a lot of runnners cannot focus or think that clearly at that leval of exersion. And the last thing you need at 5 or 6K is to have to make a choice of left or right. Also to say this has not happened before is not an issue I would say that this course has not been ran much when an athlete is this far in front at that point.
But taking nothing away from Central they ran great
Also congrats to Gavin he should be pleased to win it is a great honor I'm sure he was upset about the team but he ran fantastic and in year's to come the results will just show the result with no disclaimers
Just read on Eastern's Web Site that the meet is under protest and the result will be reviewed this week. I guess by the MAC office
Don't think that they will change the result but at least something to talk about for the next two weeks before districts
I spoke to Boaz after the race. I think that he was mostly upset that his error lost the meet for his team. I am sure that Gavin was simply pleased with his own race and time. I could tell that he was disappointed for the team as well.
Boaz said that "a guy standing at the turn" directed him the wrong way. Clearly, he should have known the course but, as someone mentioned, it is easy to forget in the heat of competition. I doubt that Gavin was close enough to help direct Boaz the right way since he had established a pretty big gap by that point.
It's a shame that something like that happened in a race with so much anticipation but that's the way it goes.
Time shall the truth come the Regionals and Nationals. You better be prepared for the Nationals, you trash
Not quite sure who this is directed to??
when u go to hell, don't cry, know that is was your destiny! ;(
