Chris just tweeted a picture of his leg after the race and it looks pretty messed up. Sure that its not that big of a cut and its fine now, but there's a good amount of dried up blood on his leg. I'm so pulling for him to go all out at Zurich and run a 12:49, and itd be great to see Rupp right next to him in a 12:50

I agree 100%. If you feel any pain at all during your race, you're running too slowly.
Interesting to note that his shoe of choice appears to be the Skylon, a shoe Nike discontinued, and many threads on this website have attempted to find a replacement to.

they aren't the skylon, but you are right it looks like them. i think thats the old skylon. they kind of look like the span, but i'm not sure

They look a little bigger because his legs are hanging over the side of the bed, causing his calves to bulge a little.

Solinsky is large for a distance runner but not even close to being a beast...those calves would embarrass any bodybuilder...look online for what a real 275lb body builder's calves look like - probably the size of his quads and a lot more ripped...
