So I did a little experiment this morning and weighed myself before and after my morning run. I dropped from 146.4 to 144.0 lbs after an easy 6-mile run.
The weather wasn't bad either. 70s and overcast with 55% humidity. Central PA.
So if I assume this is all water loss, and ROUGHLY convert weight loss (mass) to fluid oz of water (volume) that would be around 38 oz of water. Yikes!
This seems like a lot to me for such a short run. Does anyone know how this compares to other individuals? If I drop that much during an easy morning run, what does that mean for my long runs of 3-4x this distance.
This is 1.6% of my body weight, and if I remember correctly, JD's book suggests that you're good until 3-5% (pulling this out of my memory so go easy). Is that right?
