That aside, is it just me, or does that article make Webb look like a huge douchebag. He seems like a little b*tch. Maybe it was because the writer wrote the article so poorly.....

I think it was just a "who knows, running is unpredictable" comment. With all the time lost, 3:36-7 would be a good place to be this summer; he hasn't run that fast in almost 3 years.

Yeah, poor writing/editing, but I it was good to read the update on Webb and Rupp.

It looks like Webb has lost a lot more than 8 lbs (per the article). He's looking trim!

Incidentally, I can't believe nobody has pointed out that Rupp and Webb are each getting married this fall.

Yes it is poorly written but it also seems depressing. I want to believe the Webb can come back but it feels like a lost cause.

Seriously? I realize the guy hasn't been on the top of his game for a while but come on, get over yourself. This sounds like back in HS where the kid who was slightly out of shape kept complaining that we were doing 400m repeats instead off 200m or that we had to do an extra stride.

I have been saying Webb is done for quite a while now. I have to hedge a bit. The article reminded me that Salazar knows what he is doing and that there were so many basic things that Webb just wasn't doing right.

If he can give Webb some tough love and force Webb to do what it takes to be the best (i.e. no junk food, no upper body bulk, etc. - simple stuff really), Webb can likely get back to 3:36 or so.

It will be interesting to see if Webb has the guts to put in two or three tough years of training though. His head has been soft in the past, hard to imagine he won't crack again after realising how hard returning to his old form really is.

I've seen much worse writing than this. While less than brilliant in grouping and transition, the article focused on delivering straightforward information without fabricating a storyline. It looks similar to an iaaf article, though more esoteric and with some poorly flowing sentences.

After reading that article I have come to the conclusions that the writer is

1) not a runner

and

2) unable to write

Huh? I don't think training hard was every his problem. He had a few down years. I won't be surprised at all when he comes back much faster than ever.

i dont think salazar should ever joke about injecting hormones into his athletes' bodies.
