On the other hand, with all of the happiness in the world, is it possible to suffer?

I am very happy and have a very low stress life. Things are very good for me.
Oh...no...How long before some religious freak gets on here and tries to convince us that god is the answer to all the world's problems. My stomach is turning already.
Sometimes I can't sleep at night because I know there are people who 1) do not sleep next to as hot a wife as I do and 2) do not have as nice of a mattress as I do

You should share both your wife and your mattress with those less fortunate.
There's always been great suffering in the world.
We're just more aware of the scale and magnitude of it than any other generation in history.

There has always been the possibility of building computers.
However, people did not use computers before they were built. Now that they are built, we do use them.
Your argument = weak.
Try to alleviate some of the suffering of others and you will earn happiness.
Want to be real happy? Go get a lobotomy.
Surely you\'re not saying we have the resources to save the poor from their lot? There will be poor always, pathetically struggling, look at the good things you\'ve got!

Depends if you care about other peoples suffering. Most do not.
Suffer Well!
I am one of the people who is suffering greatly and I will tell you straight up that I am not concerned with anyone else's problems, nor do I expect anyone else to be concerned with mine. I am glad that at least a few people are able to achieve happiness, and it gives me hope that I might also be able to do the same one day.

My argument was weak?
My argument didn't say a thing about computers.
It's not even a debateable topic. We know more about the current events in other countries moreso than any other generation.
There's no way you can refute that.
