I will race a 20k 5 weeks before the race (New Haven 20k prior to Chicago) but not a lot of other races.
A) I figure if I can run 1:11:00, in the middle of marathon training, then I should be able to run 2:36-2:38 with a taper and 5 more weeks of training? Seem reasonable?
2) Any other "indicator" workouts to give me a sense of whether I should trek out at 6:00 pace come 10/10/10?
I just want to make sure I'm neither under or over shooting my goals heading into the race. Figure a few key workouts should give me a sense of what I can and can not handle.
This will be the fist marathon I have run where I've trained hard for it.
