interesting to read this article on Linet Masai where she talks about her 22 year old brother Denis- who - just happened to win the 10,000m world junior championships yesterday?
How can this be possible?
Interesting. My guess is it's a typo. Linet was born in 1989, making her 21. The article refers to her younger brother therefore....

We had a guy apply to our school who had represented Kenya at the World Youth (17 & Under) Championships. He had run the year before applying, but when he applied to our school all his papers, and he himself, indicated that he was 23. We had another guy who applied as an 18-year-old despite the fact that he'd been out of high school for 5 years. Since then I've always assumed the Kenyan ages are all bogus.

Hey KENYANS DO NOT CHEAT! it is not in their culture, they are very nice, too nice in fact. yeah sure they may slaughter their neighbors from time to time and there are some positive drug results every year, but they DO NOT CHEAT!
He has cheated in his age. What makes it sad is the IAAF have accepted it before doing any research which could be found in their own reportings online. They are not fit to run this sport. The youth and junior competitions are flawed due to this age cheating.
There is nothing sinister about Dennis Masai. HE's a teenager.
