Yeah CU. Men were only 9 points behind Dartmouth and crushed Princeton. Only 2 seniors in their top 9 I believe. Women scored something like 29 points. Rock on CU!

hey Conto, question, who is doing the coaching for the distance folk at Columbia (is it Coach Wood ?) -- the ladies have their own coach, is she coaching the men too ?
additionally, second question, Tim Beach, the assistant coach, seems to have disappeared -- he was an assistant at Penn when I was there. what happened to him ?
Willy Wood is the head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Columbia. The women are coached by Craig Lake. They pretty much write all the workouts together for both teams. I believe Willy has the most say in both teams workouts, however.

Willy writes all the workouts for the men.
Craig writes all the workouts for the women. Case closed.
If you were very informed, informed, you would know that there is much collaberation between Coach Wood and Coach Lake.
I'm pretty sure that Jack Daniels writes most of the workouts and together they decide which ones to use.
CU women put on an incredible performance. They crushed everyone in the back hills.
Men had best performance since '79, and 2nd best ever.
GO LIONS!
Westside, trew that! Also, sorry folks, I guess Craig does actually write the women's workouts (at least more so than she did when I was there). Spoke with some peeps last night and she seems to have taken on pretty much all aspects of the women's team. When I was there she was just starting out and I think listened to Willy pretty muchto a t. Seems as though she's taken what she's learned from him and put her own spin on things. I'm sure they still collaberate though. Also, JD is the main influence of the CU program.

wood and lake colloborate on all of the workouts for both the distance and middle distance runners. wood gives lake final say with the women though--- after they discuss all.
the daniels influence is very small at best. the staple of both teams is a long run on sunday (1:45- 2:00)and long tempo efforts.
the emphasis is on aerobic development with very few intervals done throughout the season and nothing started before early october.
if anything, i would say they are more lydiard/colorado influenced.
Beach is the vault coach and recruiting coordinator at Buffalo...talk about a career move: From the Ivy League to one of the worst programs in the MAC...
no joke
Penn-Columbia-Buffalo. Ouch. must be the $$$.
What the the prospects for qualifying for Nationals?
The women seem a pretty good bet, but are the Men SOOL? (somehow out of luck) What if they beat Datmouth to finish third? Beat Providence (with Dartmouth 2nd) and finish 3rd?
