As a 3:46 1500m runner who just graduated college, is it worth it to join a new local track club? I dropped nearly 10s in the 1500m the past year doing the same two workouts each week.
First, you are certainly faster than me. I am training with a group again now after an extended period of solo running (post-injury), when I was doing workouts by myself. Prior to rejoining a group, I knew the workouts that I had to do, and I really liked having more control over the pace/feel of my workouts.
That said, it's really awesome to be surrounded by people who share the same passion as you. Personally, I find that I learn a lot in a group, and getting consistent feedback on various aspects of my running -- especially my form -- from the coaches and other athletes has been invaluable. The coaches in our group are all very accomplished athletes themselves, and are all very inspiring to be around.
However, you're running so well and you have a great coach, so there's probably no need to change anything. Just offering an opinion from the other side. Best of luck with your goal.
On another note, what are the two workouts? :)
