This is incredible and awesome. I am so excited right now. It is like man taking that first step on the moon and gives me hope that up and coming white sprinters can dominate the sprints. What a great day for us in the white sprinting community.

Kind of bizzarro world, the best white long distance runner(Solinsky) is very muscular while the best sprinters (Wariner, Maitre) are both skinny.

And he's only 20, great. Good things to come!

obviously the other thing is that this isn't the same feat it would have been in the 1980s or 1990s, with the time being .4 behind the world record now.

Casey "White Lightening" Combest ran a personal best 10.14. Incidentally, he is attempting a comeback at age 27....

You never heard the story of how he went WELL under 10 in practice? They were practicing starts the day before a meet, and just for fun he decided to run a full 100. It was fat timed and everything.

That kid in Australia is close to becoming another white guy under 10 seconds as well. This just opened the flood gates.

I have waited 12 years for this moment and it's totally anticlimatic. Ye-haw, sub-10, now we're only 0.42 behind the blacks.

These athletes are all about 6-foot tall and 160 lbs (give or take an inch/5 lbs):

Solinsky

Wariner

Beach

Borzakovsky

Lemaitre is 160, but 6'2", so leaner than the above

This is an optimal size for "versatile" male athletes, the best rock climber (Chris Sharma) is also this size.

It would be better to say he's the first white (guy) under 10 seconds. 'Caucasian' is a bogus politically correct Americanism.

9.98 (+1.3w) qualifies as a clean time.

I guess we have to assume that he is clean, until he runs under something like 9.82 - 9.84

Whatever color he is, 9.98 is a good time this year. He'll be up there on the world lists.

His times also seem to be improving consistently this year. Will he hit low 9.9's before the season is out, with a favorable wind?

So it's the time that determines whether someone is clean or unclean. 9.98 is a clean time but should he ever run a sub 9.8 we can all rest assured that he has gone dirty. Your reasoning is exceptionally logical.
