Quality field fo sho.
Hard to know if any of these races will actually go in teh 12:50 or better range. Wouldn't be surprised to see a race at 13:00 pace with a fast last 600 and 12:55 winning time.
That said, Rupp 12:57.

Ouch, you didn't want to give him the benefit of the doubt at 12:59.9?

That's some great coverage...wish American TV could do something like that...
Solinsky jacked that guy, right before he put on the same concrete boots that he had a PRE.
I'm thinking people are going see the stanford 10K as bit of an outlier, perhaps the result of a surge of adrenaline.
Ohh wait, that theory was laughed at.
I predict DNF for Cragg and I like the guy! He was doing so well a few years ago but has definitely dropped off. Has he been injured?
very low 13 and then break 13 in August. this is his first try in Europe this season and he just had a mile below expectations, perhaps because he was not tapering for it.
13:11
I have no doubt that he's gonna break 13 and 27 soon, but I'm just not sure he's quite ready to at this race. Everything needs to go well (weather, pacing, health, etc.).
My heart says 12:56 but my brain says 13:04.
So 13:04 is my final answer.

True but Rupp rounds into shape quick. He ran 13:14 indoors.
His 3:57 last weekend could have been a 3:54 or 3:55 another day being that he just ran a 10K the week before.
I could see 13:04 if the race is moving at that kind of pace and the leaders blast off in the end. He won't be as sharp as some in this field for sure. But if it goes at 12:55 or better I wouldn't be surprised to see him sneak under 13.

He looked damn flat in that mile, not too surprising after a hot and humid 10K a week prior. Sometimes it's good to have a flat race prior to a big one, makes you feel even better compared to last time.
I'm going with 12:58.
The race is at 7 and it will be high as 80 at 3 in London on Saturday so maybe 75 for the race, a little high but still grounds for a fast race, what was the temp like at Pre again?
ventolin, give us some analytical insight on Rupp's potential result on Saturday.

Haha, yes please Ventolin. Rupp ran 3:56, 7:42 and 13:14 this indoor season. How doesn that output to this upcoming 5K. Ohh and you might want to factor in his 27:10 10K. Can you do a fatigue/getting passed factor on that 10K? I believe he had 4-5 seconds more in that 10K had he not been vultured.
Actually Ventolin, I'd be interested to know. No joke.
I never thought I'd say this, but this is one time where I would appreciate a ventolin analysis as well.
