I want to do a long run, but don't want to do it somewhere really hilly so I was thinking of road or dirt (preferably dirt). Are there any long stretches of road without traffic lights? Why is everything so hilly!!

Alviso - 14 mile dirt loop out into the bay.
At Rancho San Antonio:
Run to the farm, go out the Rogue Valley Trail until you hit the little seasonal pond thing (or just before), and turn around. Repeat multiple times, as probably only about 2 miles each way. But a non-hilly run there.

does the sunnyvale or palo alto baylands have dirt?
Central Expressway has no lights on some ling stretches.
Sunnyvale baylands (behind Yahoo at 237/101) has ~4+3 mile dirt loops
Palo Alto baylands (at the Shoreline exits off 101) has loops that are a mix of paved bike path and dirt. Longest contiguous dirt segment may be 3 miles. It also hooks up with the Stevens Creek bike path which is paved, but I believe sometimes has a decent dirt shoulder.
Alviso is like Sunnyvale with two linked dirt loops; maybe 9 and 5 miles.
Why don't you take a look yourself as you are living there unlike us - or get a map?
