So a -1.5 headwind would take off .24? Even if that is accurate, that excuses Walter Dix. Even if you dropped the same amount of time for second and third place, they'd still be a few hundredths away from sub 10.

When was the last time we had such a weak 3rd place?

Since we're giving crazy amounts of time for headwinds, what is Usain's 9.77 with a 1.3m/s head wind equal to? Or even more interesting; what is his 19.30 with a 0.9m/s head wind or his 19.19 with 0.3m/s head wind?

I look at the results and think that the drug testing is working.

A 10.04 into a -1.5 wind is not a 9.8 performance.

Using the calculator here, a 10.05 into a -1.5 is equal to 9.94.

Just not an impressive 100m final anyway you twist or turn it.

The spring crew could care less about nationals , off to Europe , make the money. Bad venue , poor depth of field in the events.

All those griping and moaning about slow times at nationals this year should realize that in a non-championship year (only once every four years, I believe?), the national meet is really nothing but a nice little accolade for the top tier athletes. It's a shame, but that's the way it usually plays out, and this sort of thing reinforces itself (a weak field at nationals with nothing on the line doesn't really motivate top runners with a european campaign ahead of them to go to nationals, which makes the field weaker...).

All due respect to those out there competing, but many of the medalists at this years championships are not one of the top three Americans in their event. There is simply a lack of depth in attendance this year.

That's a long ways from sub 9.8

the other cause of the slow times is the new false start rules. no one wants to get caught leaning because there are no warnings.
