First, Shaheen has a decent 3k steeple season debut in Russia clocking 8:16.9 (http://www.iaaf.org/iwc10/results/eventcode=4593/sex=M/discCode=3KSC/result.html#M3KSC)

Nice to see Shaheen in the steeple again after his injuries. He can probably run 5-10 seconds faster this summer. Tahri's 2k steeple should give him confidence to break the 8 minute barrier in the 3k.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. However, I admit that there are athletes on the circuit who I would trust more in this respect. Regardless of this speculation, he ran an impressive race today again with an 8:03.72 in France:

Why is Mekhissi a doper? He is young and has improved every year in the steeple and has good speed over 1k and 1500.

The drop in time is crazy but the race wasn't hammered from the start which is why he was able to run a 58-59 second last lap.
