First, Shaheen has a decent 3k steeple season debut in Russia clocking 8:16.9 (http://www.iaaf.org/iwc10/results/eventcode=4593/sex=M/discCode=3KSC/result.html#M3KSC)
1 Roba Gary [ETH] ETH 8:10.59
2 Saif Saaeed Shaheen [QAT] QAT 8:16.90
3 Brahim Taleb [MAR] MAR 8:21.79
4 Ivan Lukyanov [RUS] RUS 8:22.21
5 Ildar Minshin [RUS] RUS 8:23.18
6 Patrick Kipyegon Terer [KEN] KEN 8:25.80
7 Andrey Farnosov [RUS] RUS 8:26.21
8 Boris Zakharov [RUS] RUS 8:58.45
Second, Bob Tahri set a new world best 2k steeple time with 5:13.47 in France (http://www.iaaf.org/news/kind=100/newsid=57156.html)
Nice to see Shaheen in the steeple again after his injuries. He can probably run 5-10 seconds faster this summer. Tahri's 2k steeple should give him confidence to break the 8 minute barrier in the 3k.
