I saw that as well. Pretty amazing and impressive, especially given that he did a run in Boulder a few days before and was complaining about hom swollen and painful his knee was.
Keith has been rocking a few miles with Reebok crew. He will usually drop the pace to punish anybody who speaks of New Wave in a negative light.
I'm happy to see this. I met him twice and he is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. He even remembered a nickname he gave me a few months earlier which I thought was funny
At the start of X-C season back in whatever year it was, a good friend of mine said that his friend was going to win NCAA cross country. I told him that, actually, my friend was going to win NCAA cross country. So, we bet a case of beer on the outcome. Outcome: His friend, Keith Kelly wins, passing my friend, Stephen Ondieki at the finish.
Keith tole me he'd given up running. He has not run in well over a year and has started biking. The time is not fast at all but there are only a handfull of runners in their 30's who can quite running for over one year and just line up and run close to 5 minute pace. The guy is a bit of a freak. My bet is that he will probably need another surgery or at least get a stress fracture from that run. I wish he could train for a year, he really deserves a break. Nicest guy on the running scene.
Keith Kelly = Two Thumbs up... worked a race in Providence with him couldn't have been nicer and sent me a free pair of shoes for doing a favor for him... then met him again 2 months later at Boston Marathon expo and he still remembered me and asked me about the shoes and such... got me a couple reebok sponsored autographs too... GREAT guy good result for him hope he comes back well
