I hear Kaki is running 1000m at pre and he wants to break the world record. 2.11 is one of the hardest world records in the book. Can he break it?

Of course he can, the question is "will he?"
And you are a college anything???
Do you think kaki will go for the record in a pair of Khakis?

If the cocky Kaki runs in coffee coloured Khakis...
Which is tougher, 1000m WR or 1500m?
I say 1500
but in khakis, prob 1000 is tougher.
Also depending on how his name is pronounced, would it be fair to assume that Kaki is quite cocky?
He certainly can do it, its a tough race to run, that last 200 really can tighten someone up.
Anyway you can "loaf" the first 800 meters of 1000-meter record attempt and just crank last 200 meters to get record? I mean big time crank.

LOL this made me laugh, thank you!
You people have do idea how difficult the 1000 meter record is. You MUST have 3:32 1500 endurance or you have NO chance. That is probably a minimum. Kaki has NO chance. Do you understand how good Ngeny was? Seb Coe was faster at 800 and 1500 than Kaki and he ONLY ran 2:12.18. Go back to school...
You gotta run it like a all out 800. So Kaki will have to be close to :51 (not :49), then 1:16 high (not 1:15), then around 1:44 flat & bring it home in :27 or better. Jesus ~ that is a TOUGH record to get! Maybe if a rabbit can get him close to 700m?
That last 150m is going to Hurt.
Jesus Christo...those are the absolute worst splits I've ever seen.
25-26-25-29-27?
Hell no.
Best way is to go 52-52-26. Guaranteed.
Ngeny's splits: 49.66 53.9 (1:44.6) 27.4 (2:11.96)

So? Who cares, that's how HE broke the record. Maybe there is a better way to run it, you just need the right person to do it.

Isn't this about the 10th time that Abubaker has announced he was going to break a World Record?
How many World Records does he have?
Records are broken with the legs, not the mouth.

True to form, someone on Letsrun thinks there's a better way to do something than what the best have done.
Maybe he should work on his starts?

Malmo is always the voice of reason, i love you.
Any rumor of Rudisha being in this race (or other sub-1:43 guys)?

Point well taken, malmo, but it is not clear to me that Abubaker is running off at the mouth this time. The OP wrote,"I hear Kaki...and he wants to break the world record." Well, I'd like to, too, but it is not clear to me that Kaki is talking about it...
Well maybe Nick Symmonds will beat him and break the world as kaki would be perfect pace maker for Symmonds
