Who is Anna Willard?
She's full of shit. She's never shown that kind of speed. 50 flat makes you one of the top 400m runners in the world.
sounds fast wrote:

She's fast and I know she split 54.xx in the 4*4 at Michigan, but even now I doubt she can run faster than 53 in the open 400 when she's in peak shape.
She did say she had the "capacity" to run 50 flat.
Maybe she feels she could do that if she geared herself towards that.
She just thinks she has more talent in the 800/1500 than the steeple.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
Most likely it's a typo
Maybe she's just, you know, confident. She's pretty confident.

If even if she meant that she could do 50 flat in an alternate universe where she is a 400m specialist, that is a bold claim bordering on ridiculous. Assuming it isn't a typo.

This is easily believable and not fast even for a woman.

Exactly.
if she could really run close to 50.x she'd have run under 1"57 by n0w
dummy

She is PULLING A MAMMOTH. She is simply creating press with something that will NEVER happen.

I thought things always came in threes.
Where is the third idiot?

correct and it is on the runner's world web page. they want traffic there just like they want to sell magazines. why believe there is substance in anything RW does? more frickin' sensationalism to get attention and we're giving it to them.

Not fast? With 50.00 she'd be:
- Fastest woman in the world so far this year (but it's early)
- 9th fastest woman in the world in 2009
- 6th fastest woman in the world in 2008
- 5th at Berlin 2009 World Championships
- 4th at Beijing 2008 Olympics
- 4th at Osaka 2007 World Championships
Of course with these she'd have to run 50.00 in the final, but I assume she'd be sharp and it's not uncommon to pop a season's best at a major championship.
Basically she is claiming to be one of the 5-10 fastest 400 runners in the world. Bold claim.
She was the 10th fastest woman in the world last year at 800m.
Assume she meant relay split and 23 women were under 51 flat open that may split near 50 fat.
A bit more believable she could split 50. if she trained for it.
But no, I still really don't think she could.
The statement, though, is just talk. What matters is her performances in her competetive events.
#4 in the world at 1500m (fastest American) ain't too shabby.
Ahem...
She never mention the 400. Just 50 seconds.
I can run 50 seconds. It's just not for 400 meters.
When did Anna become Vegan?
Was she vegan during her Brown years?
She's gone through some type of body tranformation. When did this happen.
