Wheating's race was spectacular. I was wondering after the prelims how does one beat Andrews. The kid can run a 26.60 in a 1:45 mid race.
Well Wheating today obliterated him by running 26.20 in a 1:45 mid race. Andrews finish today was very similar to the prelims 26.61.

Remarkable run by Wheating. 26 sec for every 200m split of the race.

Seriously.
He is a guy who hates to lose; and he's fearless, and was national leader last year until injury took him out.
The Centro/Wheating dual could be talked about more post meet than the Wheating/Andrews dual.
Thanks to Microsoft, CBS, and NCAA for screwing up the internet feed so the 12 of us track fans nationwide who wanted to watch Wheating/Andrews just missed history.
The feed worked just fine for me.

What were the final 100m splits? I thought Andrews made up some ground during it.
I don't have them at my fingertips but Wheating outran Andrews from 600 on in.
That was Wheating's experience (and/or coaching) showing. He just ran a smarter race than Andrews.
Centro does NOT lose. The kid wins. It's simple, sit and come home. If he's fit, and I think he is, he'll win.
I too agree that Centrowitz will win. He will get a challenge from Wheating and Jeff See and at least one other, but Centro is the class of the field, provided he doesn't get caught up in traffic when a big move is made.
it really cracks me up to hear these comments like you people really know either of the two guys. i doubt the majority of you have ever seen them run in person, let alone enough to make these ridiculous comments. you need lives. BAD.
Wild. After the opening 200, Wheating had the fastest split in the field for each 200 meter segment.
