Wow--blanket finish. Top-7 all between 13:18.40 and 13:19.30.
What's Curtis's deal--is he training in Australia? I've seen some results for him listed under Melbourne Track Club, or something like that.
27:33 and 13:18 this year. Nice.

Isn't it a good sign for American distance running when a guy with times like those is an afterthought? And that is meant with no disrespect to Curtis at all, we've just got a lot of great runners right now.
True, in 2004 he would have been a guaranteed olympian, all he would have had to do is finish a race. Now he is an outside shot for 2012, at best.

They had an interview with him n the runnersworld web site about a month ago. I think he said he is mostly training in the US, but is being coached by Nick Bideau, who lives in Australia.
Awesome. Good for him.
Bobby has overcome a lot. Hope he keeps improving.
I remember back in 2005 when Goucher, Webb, and Broe ran the 3 fastest American times that year for the 5K (13:10-11), and everyone thought that was really cool. Things have come a long way.
27:33 and 13:18 are great - but look at Solinsky, Ritz, Rupp who have better 10K/5K (Tim Nelson with 27:31 and 13:24 is also something of an afterthought). Still great to see Curtis coming along.
That's a good performance
i think he represented us at world cross? anyway, 13:18 shows some good improvement. keep it up bobby
How fast was the fininsh? Curtis beat Geneti and finished next to Kemboi. I'd love to see that video if it exists. Seems like he might be in better shape than the time suggests.

Agreed, would love to see splits.
Pace was 7:55-56 thru 3K, then pacemaker stepped off, field bunched up and slowed for next 1K+ and then fast scramble for home.
Not sure of exact last 800 but I think it was moving.
