What a big move she made, WOW!! Great performance, congratulations Lisa Koll on your NCAA title! Awesome to see her teammate go 2nd as well. Nicole Blood scores some huge points for the Ducks, they are right in this battle for the team title!

Lisa is some talent. It was cool seeing her smiling over the last few laps knowing she would win, and her teammate would do well...and I think she was rooting a bit for her friend Nicole Blood to do well in front of the home fans.
Lisa is an impressive runner.
She has come such a long way since high school! Great runner in HS but has surpassed all expectations in college. Very hard working runner, she has been running around 90-100 miles a week for the last 3 years or so. All that consistent training is paying off now.

proof? (on the mileage)
There was an interview in one of the running magazines where she said she was running around 90 miles a week and had bumped up to that mileage as a soph or junior. Therefore, that would make about 3, 4 years at that mileage.
What move did she make.
Could someone give a summary of the race?
And is there a video up. Thanks
Koll ran well and should have enough left for a good 5000. She was on cruise control. As a former Domer, congratulations also to Jessica Rydberg, highest placing freshman (10th) at 33:34 - and more importantly, if I calculate correctly, a PR by 87 seconds in her biggest race of the year!
Basically ran 5:00 pace for her last 3200. Splits for all races are up on flash results.
flash results has the numbers wrote:

Basically, there was a big pack running together. With around 6 laps to go, Koll made a big move and broke off from them to take the win. It was exciting watching 4-7th place finish and Nicole Blood ran a very smart race.
Anyone notice the 'hitch' to Lisa's stride during the race? Lingering signs of the hip injury that she dealt with for a few years there perhaps?
...interesting you should say that but I absolutely noticed a slight hitch. I don't get a chance to see her race that often so that was a little surprise...
she has always had the hitch. . .
Of course some other women run 90 miles/week and Koll laps them three or four times in a 10000m.
And her toughest competitor at the meet runs just over half as much mileage.
Should be a good 5000m.
Individual levels of talent...

What position did she run the rest of the race?
Is there a video?
She was running in 4th-5th most of the race
I find it pretty crazy that she does 90-100 mile weeks and can still have that kind of speed. That's crazy! I hope she can continue to stay injury-free. I know she is very opposed to cross training as well so it seems like mileage that high is pretty dangerous, but I guess we'll see if she can keep this up - she's certainly had one heck of a track season!!! BUT, she's also certainly had her fair share of injuries. I'm not questioning her ability, I'm just questioning how safe it is to be running that much mileage as a collegiate runner. Where does she go from here, post-collegiately? 110 miles/week?
All that being said, she certainly has my vote to win the 5,000 tonight!!!
