I got hit while biking. It didn't feel like anything, because it came out of nowhere, and I went into shock so didn't feel the road burn. I was biking one second and on the ground the next, but luckily didn't get seriously injured.
like warm apple pie.
If done right, nothing.
Let's see, I was hit while running facing the traffic in the middle of the day. Broke my femur OFF at the hip and knee, so when you look at the x-ray the femur is not attached to the rest of the leg. Spent almost a year in a wheelchair and almost 2 years before I could run competitively. I was almost 37 at the time so didn't really compete well until I was a masters. Did pretty well when I turned 40, that was 10 years ago. The pain was undescribable when the car hit me. It was a drunk lady in her 20's and she fled (and later caught). I was thrown in a ditch and thought I would be paralyzed until a fireman told me that if it hurt that much I wasn't going to be paralyzed. Moral of the story: don't run on busy streets.

Do you often wonder what her life ismlike today?
What was her punishment/sentence?
Nothing really. No remorse. She got 5 years of probation and was ordered to pay my nearly $100k for lost wages. She paid about $1,000. Funny thing happened about a year ago. A private detective showed up on my doorstep and started asking me about her. I inquired why, of course. Turns out she had a bling boyfriend and beat him up. She's a real winner.
Sorry, meant to say "blind" boyfriend, not a boyfriend with bling.
I've been hit twice, but nothing like the story above.
Funny enough both were at the same intersection. After college I lived at home with my parents for about 4 months while I built a savings and got on top of things. We lived about a mile from my high school where there was a track. On workout days I would jog there and back as a warm up/cool down. One day on my way back I was approaching an intersection where there was a 4 way stop sign and a cross walk. The driver stopped at the sign and I assumed he knew I was there. When I was in front of him he hit the gas and struck me going probably 2-3mph. It wouldn't have been bad except the license plate gashed my leg pretty badly. Other than that I was just scraped up from the road.
A few weeks later, approaching the same intersection I intentionally made eye contact with the driver as we both approached the intersection. This time I was positive she saw me, so I went. This time the woman driving hit the gas like she was starting a drag race and hit me hard enough to send me sliding down the road. Not far, but enough to get scraped and bruised pretty badly.
I started taking a different way home after that.
