Emily Sisson apparently just ran a 9:51 3200 for the #2 all time EVER, and just a bit faster than what the duo of Hasay/Chetelat ran 2 years ago at the California state meet. Wow!! The class of 2010 has some amazing depth. Sisson, Goethals who ran a crazy time last week, Katie Flood who also has run VERY fast, Emily Lipari, etc... and then there's Chelsey Sveinsson leading the class of 2011.
Wow!!
Not to be a downer, but Sisson was paced by male pacers to that time. While she still ran it, and I think it should count as US#2 all-time, it won't be counted in the record books. Sisson really stepped it up this year, and it's going to pay off in a big way this post season.
BS how is she over rated? 95% of high school boys can't run 9:51. Her being paced doesn't change the fact that she is a high school female that has run that time.

When she ran the 9:51..i believe she ran a 4:55 4:54. The guys were from Big River Running and they seemed to be out for a morning jog. They let her run the last 300 by herself though to me it looked like she kept the same exact pace. Even though she was paced it was still exciting to watch.

i feel like aisling cuffe gets overlooked a lot. I would say that she is at least the co-favorite to win footlockers, and to be honest i give her the edge over sveinson. I get that sveinson beat her in cross this year, but i think everyone is taking it for granted that she would be beating cuffe/sisson on the track this season because she placed better than them at FLN 3 months ago. The two of them have made huge progress in the past year, and I don't think it should be taken for granted that sveinsonn will automatically come back and be at the top of the class of 2011
that is a remarkable time. I was primarily a hoopster in high school and only ran one 3200 - 9:59 off very low mileage but still. I later ran 13:51.
With maturity, experience and more mileage I don't see why she can't take that 4:55 pace and extend to a 5k.

well if a girl has run 13:51 she would have smashed the 5k record by 20 seconds, so using deductive reasoning any person that has run 13:51 for 5k is male.
and it is not a average to lousy time, it is very good and will beat 99.999% of all runners, it wont scare the k. bekeles of course, but it is very good.
Too bad she's headed to Wisconsin, home of eating disorders and highly underachieving athletes... :-/
