I am a 200m and 400m but am trying to get in shape to run a couple 5k races this summer.
I am trying to run between 20 and 30 minutes everyday but I am really struggling. I can only run about 7 or 8 minutes before I have to stop and walk for 30 seconds or a minute then start back up again.
Because I am use to sprinting training that encourages me to go out fast and finish a little bit slower, I feel like I start my runs quick, take a short break then start back up again at the same pace and repeat the process.
Is this ok? or is it better to run at a very slow pace and run the entire 20 or 30 minutes?
