Or pick up the f***ing phone. How lame are you that you wouldn't talk to the coach over the phone or as someone suggested, in person? If some pussy who I didn't recruit emailed me it would tell me he has no heart and would be a horrible runner.

Would calling the coach be worse than having no chance of being on the team?

You're not a p***y, or a mouth-breather, or anything like that. I recommend you give him a call, and if he isn't there, leave a message. It's a little tough to do, as one poster insinuated, but it'll be most effective. Don't be afraid to call back in the near future if you don't get an answer. Remember, this is something YOU want--go after it!

Just show up at the first meet in your homemade school singlet and crush everyone on the team and he will have to let you join.

If you run a 5:30 1600 / 20 minute 5K, chances are not looking so good for you (assuming your a male anyways...).

I'd call and if no answer leave a message. If no returned call in 48 hours call again. It's possible he didn't get the email or simply forgot about it.

The other question you have to ask yourself is if you are being realistic in trying to walk on.
