it was either a short track or this woman was doped out her dome. Many will argue both.

She was Chinese, and Chinese are Asian.

Asians work harder than normal people, especially amongst women.

This is why Asian women are so much more successful than normal women of other races.

Go to any graduate level school in the world, it will be filled with Asians, unless its a bad school.

This is a simple fact of life.

I've always been skeptical of her 10,000 WR. Never saw these splits before, but that is deifnitely pretty whacked that she should run her last 2,000 just 2 seconds slower than her PB.

Her PB in the 2k was enroute, she never ran an open 2k. Therefore it is impossible to judge whats whacked or not.

Her 3k, 2k split is 2.5 seconds faster than her final 2k in the 10k.

Judging from similar performances between 3k and 2k-

El G ran 4:44 with a 7:23 3k PR (mid distance)

Daniel K 4:51 with a 7:20 3k

Bekele 4:49i with 7:25

Haile 4:51i with 7:26i

Judging from these times Wangs 2k PR would likely be much faster than 5:29, possibly under 5:20.

Women are generally 25-35 seconds slower at 1500 meters as well so you could use about 35 seconds for the less common 2000 meters.

I also used men's times because there are few top times from women in the 2k.

Her final 2k in her 10k record makes plenty of sense. Regardless whether she was doped or not her splits correlate well with men's splits at similar performance levels.

compared to his 2k PR of 4:49 this is even more unbelievable than Wang running near her fastest 2k split.

Wang's split is more believable in light of her slower previous splits.

Where's the outrage at Bekele?

I think its clear from this data that Wang could have easily broken the 2k record in her best shape, likely by a significant margin of 3-5 seconds.

Given her final 2k split + previous splits in the 10k record is not anymore unbelievable than Bekele's record run, in fact her record is more believable than Bekele who maintained a consistent pace of about 25 seconds slower than his 2k PB for the entire 10,000 meter distance.

By comparison Wang was likely about 10 seconds slower than her possible 2k PB for only the final 2k of her 10k.

Wang's time is quite believable.

So where are they now?

She was jacked - everyone knows it

Wang was seemed to be about 6 minutes per 2k in her record, about 40 seconds slower than her best possible 2k for the first 4 2k splits.

Compared to the time difference between men's and women's records at 10k, women are about 12% slower.

Bekele WR in seconds/Wang's WR (1577/1771)

So Wang at even 15% slower per 2k than Bekele's 25 seconds would still be averaging only about 30 second's slower than her possible 2k PB for a similar effort.

Given that 40 seconds is 60% slower per similar 2k effort than Bekele, Wang could easily have run her final 2k in the time she did, in fact she could have gone even faster.

Nothing about her performance seems untrue.

Its also not surprising that China produces 10k talent rather consistently on the world stage.

In 1996, Wang was taking the same Drug tests Bob Kennedy, Geb,Daniel Komen, and El G were.

If her mark's aren't allowed to stand, then neither should the mark's of any of those runners from the same period.

Wang Junxia's last 3k was 8:17.4, a really nice finish.

The pace was very even from the 7k to the finish.

That week she went on to officially break the 3000 world record in the prelims and then the final and then beat the 1500 world record in a second place finish.

Her last 5000 of that 10000 also would have been a world record.

5 Chines women broke the old world record in the 3000m final.

Yes she picked it up and closed well, which is quite common in 10k races.

Her last 5k was 14:39-

Her 5k PR was 14:51, so obviously this girl was not even running near her best in many of her races. I think the only reason she gets a bad rap is because she is Chinese-

She easily could have held the 2k and 5k records.

I think its also obvious she was more of a mid distance runner moving up, judging from her other PB's, enroute or otherwise and also from the way she ran her splits in the 10k record.

In the top 25 Women performers of the 10k, China has 4, Wang and another from the same race, and 2 more later. Ethiopia has 12(13), so China has a performance standard

I also think more women could have and would break 30 if the event was as competitive as men's events and held as often. Paula Radcliffe could have done it.

The most competitive race other than the Olympic final, which precludes fast times usually, was the Paris race in 2003. If a race like that was held every year we would see more times under 30. The 30 minute barrier for women is almost very similar to the men's 27 barrier, its just women are even less competitive than men in performance standards and unlikely to run at the best.

If you look at other times women have run that far exceed previous standards, Paula Radcliffe ran her Marathon record in London. FloJo ran her record(s) at the time in Indianapolis. Yuliya Pechenkina ran her record in Tula. Women just perform well at home. So why is it surprising when a Chinese women runs fast in Beijing? Its about as surprising as Radcliffe's record was, and likewise as believable to outsiders.

Yingjie Sun ran 14:40, 30:07, and 2:19 all over about a year long period in 2003.

If she put her arms up, she'd probably run as fast or faster than Wang.

And again Wang's 14:39 in the final 5k of the 10k showed she probably could have run at least 14:25 in a competitive 5k-

Which correlates well again with her 10k world record, if you factor in a 30 second improvement over Sun's 10k pb.

I think from all this data is pretty clear Wang's time is not only believable in comparison to other long distance runners, including Chinese, but its more believable than the Men's records.

It is not common to close a 10000 with interim splits faster than their respective world record.

Bekele closed in 7:53, more 30 seconds slower than the 3K WR.

Wang negative split a record by 39 seconds meaning she could have run much faster than 29:31.

She closed in 14:26 not 14:39.

I am sure you are just having fun, acting like this is reasonable.
