You can but don't expect anyone else to.
You need to work on your speed. A 24:38 should be sub 3:50. Either that or the 8k was xc and it was a short course. Either way you have a bit before you are a "bad ass."

no, go break 3:45 for the 1500 then you can say that, im guessing your in college and your times point to you being a pretty good college runner. but yeah there are about 15 highschoolers in america right now that could be you in the 1500. think about that badass.

You CAN say it, but you probably shouldn't.
But congrats on some good times.
That depends on several factors:
1) How much do you drink?
2) How much weed do you smoke?
3) How much cocaine do you do?
4) What other drugs do you do?
If you're answers don't equate to at least:
1) 6/7 days of the week, at least 15 beers a day.
2) One gram a day at least 6/7 days of the week.
3) One gram every 3 days.
4) Ecstasy occasionally, but you roofie girls every party.
Then you are not a "badass", and you need to run much faster.

That sort of 8k time doesn't require much speed. Just because the performances aren't equivalent doesn't mean it's impossible. My 8k xc PR, run twice on two legit courses, is 24:22, and my 1500 PR is 3:58. I'm sure there are more extreme examples.
