And pass up a perfectly good opportunity for self-righteous judgement?
Yeah, here's my thought.
If you are fast enough to get a track scholarship in the 400m, if you are fast enough to make the USA Olympic team in the 400 meters, if you are fast enough to be a professional athlete at the 400meters, if you are fast enough to defeat the standing 400 meter Olympic Gold medalist, if you are fast enough to then continue to make your living running 400 meters...
You ought to be smart enough, informed enough, mindful, professional and intelligent enough to remember...after say those many dozen pee tests...THAT YOU AND ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY -- AND YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN EDUCATED, LECTURED, GIVEN THE RULES AND THE WARNINGS TO STAY AWAY FROM SUPPLEMENTS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE SAME EQUIPMENTS AS BANNED SUBSTANCES LIKE STEROIDS OR NEAR STEROIDS THAT COULD MAKE YOU TEST POSITIVE...
If after all that you still test positive and then blame it on some late night infomercial "dick lengthener..."
You're nothing but a dumb negro, who just screwed yourself out of 2 years of income and earned yourself a life time of suspicion.
I agree they should have rephrased it, maybe M'erritt exposed as drug cheating bastard who has put another nail in the coffin of his sport?'
Yes, certain aspects of LR editorial bias are offensive. Think of it as the Fox News of running, at times sadly more in the spirit of McCarthyism, lynch mobs and witch trials. The Merritt commentary was ridiculous of course -- limbic, fear based and insensitive. At best it is just more inexcusable, lazy journalism. I was actually embarrassed for them.
Objective coverage of the Merritt case would be much more powerful -- but that might require some actual work.

"Objective"? How exactly would one obtain his dick measurements before and after?
Sadly, your comments have some merit. Is this Board the National Inquirer of running?
From the rumor mill, it has been confirmed Merritt was indeed taking Enzyte. I don't believe Merritt was intentionally doping for a variety of reasons, namely DEH is a poor choice; there are several PEDs that have better performance enhancing capabilities, they are much less dectable. And, the amount of DEH in the OTC supplements he took is small, unless Merritt was taking massive amounts of Enzyte.
With that said, ignorance of the law is no excuse and in this day and age, it is difiuclt to give benefit of the doubt to anyone. I am a Merritt fan, but I think a 2 year ban is appropriate.

Complete BS
Its not DEH for a start!
