...I wonder if it got windy or cold by the time the Senior tributes were over and they got onto the starting the Mile...

Expected a faster time with all those studs in the race.

understand he never was a miler ( and he looked funny being on the entry list for this race to begin with), but :23? did he fall or just blow up?

Conditions were good.

Pifer took them through 3 laps in 3:01

Kisorio was leading down the backstretch with Centro and Russell Brown right there. Centro took the lead and wouldn't give it up to Brown right through the finish. Fleet finished a very strong third.

Didn't he run 8:50 solo in the snow in Alaska? Dad was a good miler too.

As per times, Oregon guys looked flat, I suspect Vin is working them hard thru PAC-10's and up to regionals like he does in cross.

Conditions were ideal.

He was 2 seconds back at the bell, and 2 seconds back at the tape...not bad.

you should close a 10k faster then a mile! I always find it funny when people say that.

...i think rupp has closed a 10K in 4:00 while slowing up. granted it was slow pace for him but he was doubling and he cruised in the last 30, hardly a kick to the line.

that means if they had started this mile right as galen was finishing his 8400 meters he'd have been in it to win it.

30 all time UO sub 4 runners now, with Fleet under.

"Conditions were perfect", but I had to put on a jacket, over my sweater, and there was a headwind on the East straightaway. Not a huge headwind, but the flag was blowing pretty good. It really was a pretty tactical race with everyone just looking to improve their Regional and National qualifying spots, rather than take a chance for a super fast mile a nd maybe blowing up. Based on the purpose of the race, it was a huge success.

Went to the meet and just got back from Eugene. IMO, it wasn't that great of run for Centrowitz. I think he is capable of 3:57 in those kind of ideal conditions.
